LEAF CONTEST

To celebrate the new season of Autumn (Fall) the school is sponsoring a contest.  Student≠s can win a small prize by bringing in the largest, smallest, most colorful, coolest, or most beautiful leaf.  Entries will be accepted until Monday, Oct. 13.

OPEN HOUSE

Thank you to those who were able to attend the open houses.  I was very pleased with the turnout and hope that this was a positive experience for everyone.

A.R. ASSEMBLY

Families are invited to our Accelerated Reader assembly on Friday, Oct. 3 at 8:45 in the gym.  Students who reached their A.R. goal will be honored.  Please join us in celebrating this achievement.

COMMERCIAL FEDERAL

Students who already have accounts may make deposits on Wednesday, Oct. 1, before school in the entryway.

CHARACTER COUNTS

We are going to begin a character building program.  Information is enclosed.  Each month we will take one of the pillars and focus on it.  This month≠s pillar is ‘Trustworthiness.≠

NO SCHOOL

We will not have school on Friday, October 31, due to the end of the first quarter.  Halloween parties will be on Thursday, October 30.

FUNDRAISERS

Thank you to everyone who participated in the recent fundraisers.  We appreciate the time and effort.  The money raised will be well spent. 

END OF QUARTER

The end of the first quarter is Thursday, October 30.  Please stop in soon to see your child≠s teacher if you have concerns or questions.  This is an important step to make sure problems don≠t become too much to handle.

BOOKS-R-FUN

If you ordered books and have not received them yet, then they are on back-order.  Most books will be in by the end of the week.  Thanks for your orders.  The library now has some new books and the teachers have two new reference books for science.

SUB NOTIFICATION

Mrs. David will be out of the classroom until Nov. 3.  Until then Mrs. Collete Sauer will be subbing fulltime for 6,7,8 Science & Math.  She will take over all other duties for Mrs. David, as well.  Mrs. Sauer will return to being our Title I teacher to start the second quarter.

REQUEST

Since our school has a Title I program all parents of our school have the right to request information about the qualifications of any of the teachers in our school.  You may request this information by stopping in and talking to Mr. Irish.

IMMUNIZATIONS

On Monday & Tuesday nurses were in our school checking our students and their records.  A sheet containing their results will be sent home in the near future.  Please look these over and consider following their recommendations.  If you have any questions feel free to call or stop in the office.
