JV Quad

The Lady Longhorns traveled to Stapleton to play in a JV Quad on October 2.  The Longhorns played the first game against Stapleton.  The Ladies won in three sets.  Stapleton won the first set with the score of 25-20.  Then the Ladies won the next two sets with scores of 25-21, 25-23.  The top scorers were Mara with 9 points and Nicole with 7 points.  Mara had 9 set assists.  Kate and Ashley had 9 kills.  Molly had 7 digs and Nicole had 4 digs. 

The Lady Longhorns went to the final round and played Maxwell. Longhorns won in two sets.  The scores were 25-21, 25-20.  Top scorers were Nicole with 8 points and Ashley with 6.  Mara had 10 set assists and Tasha had 5.  Molly had 5 kills and Ashley had 3.  Ashley had 3 blocks and Sam had 2.  Mara and Molly each had 3 digs.  The Lady Longhorns won the quad.  Good job Ladies.  JLS  

Longhorns Win

The Longhorns won their Homecoming game against Minatare Indians by a score of 26 to 22. 

The defense had a total of 55 tackles.  Petar had 4 solo and 4 assisted tackles, Tyrel had 2 sacks, Matt had 1 solo and 6 assisted tackles, Dillon had 1 solo tackle, and Chris had 2 assisted tackles.
   
The Longhorns made 4 touchdowns and kick for the point after for their score of 26.  Three of the touch down were passes from Tyrel to Tui  for a total of 149 yards.  The other touch down Tui ran in from the 8 yard line. 
   
Tyrel had a good passing game completing 13 passes for 248 yards, Jake caught 4 of those passes for 11 yards and Ben caught 4 for 67 yards. AJM  

JV Minatare

The volleyball team played Minatare on October 5th in Tryon. The score was 25-16 and 25-7 all in favor of MCHS. Kate had 15 points, Sam had 12 points. Mara had 9 assists. Ashley had 5 kills and Kate had 2. Nicole had 3, Ashley 1 block. Kate and Nicole had 3 digs. Nice job Ladies.  PZP

Homecoming

Our Homecoming games were against the Minatare Indians on October 5.  The Lady Longhorns pulled off a clean win in three sets against the Indians.  The scores were 25-22, 25-5, 25-9.  Top scorers were Nicole with 13 points and Jalyn with 12.  Jalyn had 20 set assists and Tasha had 18.  Meka had 12 kills and Amy had 10.  Nicole had 11 digs and Jordan had 9.  Good job Lady Longhorns.  JLS

Double Wins

McPherson County High School hosted a triangular on October 8th.  McPherson County played the first and third games of the night.

In the first game McPherson County met Brady.  The Lady Longhorns defeated the Lady Eagles 25-12, 25-15.  Meka had 4 kills and 3 blocks.  Jalyn had 2 ace points, and 5 assists.  Amy had 2 points, and 5 kills.  Tasha had 12 points, and 9 assists.  Jordan had 6 points, and 4 kills.  Kate was 100% in serving and had 1 dig.  Nicole had 3 good serves and 6 digs.  Molly had 1 kill, Ashley had 1 kill, and 1 stuff block. 

In the third game against Arthur the Lady Longhorns defeated the Lady Wolves 25-12, 25-14. Meka had 11 good hits, 8 kills, and a stuff block.  Jalyn had 8 points, 14 assists, and 4 kills.  Amy had 7 points, 4 kills and 4 digs.  Tasha had 7 points, 9 assists, 3 digs.  Jordan had 3 ace points, 4 kills and 5 digs.  Kate had 4 good hits, 3 kills and 1 dig.   Molly had 1 god hit.  Ashley had 2 stuff blocks and 1 dig.  The wins improve the Lady Longhorn's record to 12-3.  Keep up the team work!

Longhorns vs. Huskies

The Longhorns traveled to Arcadia on Friday, October 12.  At the end of the first quarter the score was 8-28. Tyrel passed to Tui for a 33 yard pass. Tui had the first two touchdowns followed with Ben then Jake with one touchdown.  Jake lead the solo tackles with 7 then Ben and Tyrel with 5.  Also, Petar had 5 and had Eric1 solo tackle.  Matt lead assists with 6.  Tui had 2 carries for 62 yards.  At the end of the game the score was 31-69.  DPA

JV Win Again!

The Lady Longhorn JV volleyball team traveled to Arcadia to play Arcadia JV on October 12th.  The Lady Longhorns were victorious with scores of 25-11 and 25-23.

Individual stats for Longhorns are as follows:  Kate with 15 good serves, 11 points and 8 digs, Nicole with 15 good sets, 4 assists and 7 digs, and Sam with 5 points, 10 good hits and 2 tough blocks.  AGBB

Volleyball Game At Arcadia

McPherson County Lady Longhorns played three games vs. Arcadia on October 12.  The scores of all three games are 25 to 11, 25 to 15, and 25 to 9 in favor of the Longhorns.

Meka had 7 good serves, 14 hitting, 10 kills, 5 points.  Jalyn had 18 good serves, 37 sets, 6 digs,15 points.  Amy had 5 good serves, 13 hitting, 5 kills.  Tasha had 22 good serves, 25 sets, 5 digs, 18 points.  Jordan had 10 good serves, 11 hitting, 5 kills, 7 digs, 9 points. AJM

Conference Tournament

The volleyball team went to Dunning on October 16th for a tournament. They played against Hyannis. The scores were 25-13, 25-11, 25-12, in favor of MCHS. Jalyn had 21, Tasha had 13 and Meka had 6 points. Tasha had 16 and Jalyn had 10 set assists. Meka had 13 kills, Jalyn had 6 and Jordan had 5. Ashley had 2 blocks and Molly and Tasha each had 1. Nicole had 7 digs, Meka had 6 and Jalyn and Jordan each had 5. Nice job Ladies!  PZP

End of a Season

The JV Lady Longhorns had a tough night on October 18th.  They met up with the Maxwell Lady Wildcats.  The Lady Longhorns took three sets to defeat the Lady Wildcats, 25-17, 9-25, 25-23.  Tasha had 6 points, 7 assists, and 3 digs.  Jordan had 4 good sets, and 2 good hits.  Kate had 3 ace points, 5 kills, and 4 digs.  Molly had 1 ace point, 3 kills, and 1 block.  Ashley had 1 ace point, 4 kills, and 1 block.  Samantha had 3 ace points, 1 kill, and 1 block.  Mara had 10 points, 9 assists, and 4 digs.  This was the JV's last regular season game.  They ended with a record of 10-2.  Way to go JV!

Last Home Game

The Lady Longhorns played Maxwell on October 18 at 6:30.  The Ladies pulled out a win in four sets.  The scores were 25-21 in our favor, 25-19 in the Maxwell's favor, and 25-15 and 25-18 in our favor.   The high scorers were Jalyn with 17 points and Meka with 9 points.  Tasha had 25 set assists and Jalyn had 23 set assists.  Meka had 20 kills and Amy had 10 kills.  Kate had 19 digs and Meka had 16 digs.  Good job Lady Longhorns.  JLS

Last Regular Season Football Game

The Longhorns took on Rock County in their last home football game of the season. The game started at 3 p.m. on the 19th. The Longhorns played a very good game but came up short. The final score was MCHS 34 and Rock County 63.

Jake and Ben had 13 good tackles and Tyrel had 12. The team had a total of 62 tackles. Tui had 3 returns for 42 yards. Tyrel had 7 carries for 100 yards. He also had 12 completed passes for 295 yards. Ben had 3 touchdowns and Tui had 2 touchdowns. All touchdowns were passed from Tyrel. Tui made two of the extra point kicks.    AKW

Longhorns vs. Trojans

The Lady Longhorns traveled to Dunning to play the Lady Trojans on October 20.  It was a tough match for the Longhorns but they ended up victorious 25-21, 19-25, 25-20, 25-17.  Meka, Jalyn, Tasha, and Jordan had a 100% in serving.  Also Jalyn, Amy, Tasha, and Jordan had a 100% on their setting.  The Ladies≠ top hitters were Amy with 20, Meka with 18, Jordan with 17, Jalyn with 14, and Ashley with 10 hits.  Good Luck Ladies in the finals. Conference Champions

The Lady Longhorn volleyball team traveled to Mullen to play Mullen in Sandhills Conference action on October 20th. The Lady Longhorns were victorious with scores of 25-14, 25-15, 18-25 and 25-20.
  
Individual stats for Longhorns are as follows:  Molly with 4 aces, 16 points and 5 digs, Meka with 7 points, 24 kills and 7 digs and Amy with 10 points, 28 good hits and 3 stuff blocks.  AGBB

Volleyball Game at Cody

McPherson County Lady Longhorns played two games vs. Arthur, which was held in Cody on October 23rd.  The scores of the two games were 25 to 16, and 25 to 20 in favor of the Longhorns.

Meka had 3 good serves, 4 digs.  Jalyn had 18 sets, 3 kills, 3 digs, 9 points.  Amy had 3 good hits, 2 kills, 9 points.  Tasha had 19 good sets, 5 points.  Jordan had 5 good serves, 3 kills, 5 digs, Kate had 2 digs.  Molly had 4 good serves, 6 digs, 4 points.  Ashley had 3 kills, 1 block, 1 dig.  Sam had 1 good serve, 2 good hits, 1 point. Triangular Tournament

The volleyball team went to Cody on October 23rd for a triangular.  They played against Cody. The score was 25-13, in favor of MCHS, of 25-20 in favor of Cody and 25-9 in favor of MCHS.  Tasha had 16 points, Jordan had 11 and Molly had 7.  Jalyn had 18 and Tasha had 9 set assists.  Meka had 9 kills, Amy had 7 and Jordan, Tasha and Jalyn each had 3. Amy had 3 blocks.  Meka had 23 digs, Jalyn had 13 and Jordan had 9.  Nice job Ladies!  PZP

First Round Football Playoffs

The MCHS Longhorns traveled to Arthur on October 26th to play the Wolves in the first round of playoffs. The boys played a good game but came up empty handed. The final score was MCHS 8 and Arthur 72. Arthur advanced to play Arcadia in the semi-finals.

Tyrel had 3 returns for 47 yards. Ben had 6 punts for 176 yards. Tyrel passed to Tui and Tui ran 21 yards for a touchdown. Matt had 9 assists in the tackling department, Dillon had 2, Jake had 7, Petar had 6. Tyrel had 7 solo tackles. Jake had 1 interception.  AKW
