The School Bells Ring Again
The halls of McPherson County High School are once again buzzing with activity. Students and staff closed their summer vacation on August 20 to hit the books for another school year. We have returning students and staff as well as a few new additions, including Joseph D., a sophomore, and Molli S., Casey W., and Zak R., all juniors. We also have new superintendent, Mr. Sherwood, groundskeeper Dutch W., and Math teacher Mrs. Vasa. I≠m sure we will all have a great school year! GMR
Vocal Teacher for Public Schools
A good career for someone who enjoys singing and performing would be a vocal teacher. Vocal teachers need to have musical talent and the ability to work well with others. They also need to have the ambition to constantly study and improve, as well as inspire others, and have great confidence and patience. If you want to become a vocal teacher, you need to have your high school diploma, and need to have your bachelor's degree in music education. The starting salary in McPherson County for becoming a music teacher is around 28,000 dollars. You can also get your masters degree and get a salary of around 45,000 dollars. Being a vocal teacher is interesting for someone who enjoys music because they are sharing and teaching their interests. So if you enjoy singing and performing, becoming a vocal teacher is a recommendable path to pursue. MJS

Picture Day McPherson County schools had individual and class pictures taken by Lifetouch at the McPherson County high school on Monday, September 8th. The sophomores had their class picture taken in the gym, the juniors had theirs taken in the courtyard, and spirit-reps had theirs taken outside of the west end of the gym. Later that day, the seniors had their class picture taken at Pearl Millers, and the rodeo club had theirs taken by a barn. The freshmen had their class picture taken at the Sherwood's residence, as well as the annual staff. The school picture with students and staff was taken in front of McPherson County High School in front of the school bus. Last but not least, team pictures were taken in the gym. Those who wanted memory mate pictures had them individually taken, and those who wanted buttons had their pictures taken individually by Mrs. Britton. Picture re-takes will be coming sometime in October. MJS
New Student
Hi, My name is Wadim and I am an exchange student from Germany. I live on a ranch and I will go to MCHS (Jr Class) for one year.
Now I'm going to tell you something about me: I live in Aachen (250,000 inhabitants) and I go to 11th class. Life is very different in Tryon but I'm enjoying it.
My main interests are soccer and tennis and I like to go to the movies. Furthermore I like traveling with my family, that means with my parents and my brother. My father is a doctor, my mother works in a pharmacy and my brother goes to college in Duesseldorf (capitol of NRW, the state I live in).
My first impression of the US is great. All the people are friendly and helpful, especially here in Nebraska.
I hope, no I'm sure that I will spend an awesome year here and that we will have a lot of fun together. WL
