nurse:
Job of a CNA
Have you ever thought about going into the medical field? Becoming a CNA is the best way to start. CNA stands for Certified Nursing Assistant. For this job you have to be a people person and have patience with elderly people. Things that you have to do for this job includes making beds, dressing patients, taking them to eat, making sure they are where they need to be, help them maintain good hygiene, and you are the one that checks to make sure that they are not ill. The CNA is the one who will notice that there is a change in their behavior or if they are not being their usual self.

 To become a CNA you have to take the course, which is offered through Mid-Plains. It is a 76 hour course. You have to pass the class with a 70% in order to take the state final test. There are also 50 or more skills that you have to pass in order to take the state test. The state test consists of 50 questions and you have to do 10 of the skills to be able to get your license. Starting wage ranges from $10 to $12 per hour.    AKW
 

Clapping:
Conference Onc Act
The One Act play cast and crew traveled to Arthur for the Conference contest on November 7th. They received third place and Jake also received third place for Outstanding Actor. The actors were:  Duell, Jordan, Jake, Kate, Tyrel, Tasha and who helped with the stage crew were:  Logan, Petar, Tui, Amy, Chris, Dillon. The play was much better than last year's, surprising everybody. Congratulations Mr. Thelen and students. AGBB

American Education Week 2007
The American Education week is celebrated this year during November 11-17.  This is the 86th year that it has been celebrated.

This year's poster spotlights the importance of providing every child in America with a quality public education, and the need for everyone to do his or her part in making public schools great.

Monday, November 12:  American Education Week Kicks Off.
  
Tuesday, November 13:  Invite Parents to School Day.
 
Wednesday, November 14:  Education Support Professionals Day.

Thursday, November 15:  Educator for a Day.

Friday, November 16:  Substitute Educators Day.

vets:
Veteran's Day Program
The annual Veteran's Day program was held on November 12 at the MCHS gym at 10 o≠clock AM. Logan Krull was introducing veterans. There were two guest speakers, Willie Masters and Katrina Fisher. MCHS played "National Anthem" and "Liberty March."  Ben Cochran talked about boys state representative, Amanda Morgan talked about girls state representative.  PZP


Pencil:
Work Keys Test
The seniors and freshmen took the Work Keys test on November 14.  They met in the English room at McPherson County High School.  The test measures your knowledge in several academic areas. It took all of the morning classes to finish up the test.  The results will be coming back sometime in December.  DPA

PirateChest:
The Junior/Senior Play
The Junior/Senior dinner theater was held on November 17th in the MCHS gym. The dinner started at 6:00. Teriyaki chicken, baked potatoes and green beans were the delicious dishes served at the dinner. The play began at 7:30. The Juniors and Seniors chose the play "Dead Man's Chest." It was a very funny play that tells about different people searching for buried treasure. The cast consisted of:  Matt, Amanda, Amy, Jalyn, Jordan, Petar, Meka, Tui, Ben and Kate were the members of search party; Tyrel, Nicole and Jake were the pirates; Chris and Tasha were the ship's crew; Duell was the leader of the search. Clapping:
One Act Play
The one act play was presented to the public. It was held in the gym on November 20 at 8.30 in the morning, to give the cast practice in front of an audience. This was to help the cast to get ready for district that was held in Dunning on Monday the 26th.  AJM 


StageCurtain:
District One Act
District One Act contest had been presented on November 26 at Dunning. There were eight schools including MCHS, Keya Paha  County, Mullen, Rock County, Sandhills, Sargent, Stapleton, Thedford.  Keya Paha County won.   PZP

DramaFaces:
Romeo and Juliet
The Romeo and Juliet play was held at the North Platte Community College on November 28.  The freshman and sophomores left at 8:00am to go to the play.  The play started at 10:15am and lasted for an hour and a half.  McPherson County was one of the two schools there.  The other school was Garden County.  JLS

Life Touch came on November 30th to take memory mate pictures. They took the pictures in the gym. First the band and choir took their group pictures. Then the boys and girls basketball teams took their group and individual pictures. Also, while Life Touch was taking memory mate pictures, Mrs. Britton took pictures for the buttons.   AKW
